The dog is an essential member of many families, especially those with children. This presentation highlights the special circumstances Doulas may encounter when interacting and supporting new and expecting families with dogs.

Topics include:

  • Questions to ask at client intake
  • Basic dog body language
  • Preparing before baby
  • How Doulas (especially PPD) can increase safety during family visits
  • And much more!

Attendees will receive helpful handouts and resources to freely share with the families they support.

  • Where: Your home! This is a telecourse. All materials will be emailed and available on a password protected site.

****Personal note from me. I see the media attention and read the stories and look deeply into the details beyond the media on the dog attacks to babies. I KNOW that with more knowledge and more awareness we CAN make a difference in the lives of the babies and families we support. There are many tragic stories that are completely preventable we must bring awareness and education to new parents!
